Schools of Hope
United Way of the Wine Country recently completed an extensive business model exploration in order to determine how we can more effectively serve struggling communities throughout our five-county region. As we prepare to refocus our efforts, including making various organizational changes, we have decided to discontinue our Schools of Hope reading program, including the distribution of School Readiness Backpacks/Kits and Summer Reading Packs.
As of July 1, 2020, Education Program Officer, Joan Reynolds, and Education Community Benefit Coordinator, Ariel Vipond, will no longer be with United Way.
We cannot fully express our gratitude to our Joan, Ariel, our funders, our partners, our volunteers, and the many school and site coordinators and teachers who helped make this work possible. Please take a moment to reflect upon our collective effort in support of local students and their families.
