In association with the 2012 Big Read Sonoma County, we are coordinating a Creativity Contest on Facebook to encourage young readers to exhibit their creative interpretations of Rudolfo Anaya’s Bless Me, Ultima, The First Tortilla and The Roadrunners Dance. The competition will occur from February 27-March 23. A volunteer team of judges will critique the projects with the top three winners for EACH book being announced on April 6. The announcements will be on our Facebook fan page as well as on KRCB. Prizes for the contest will include gift certificates to local book stores and a grand prize of a reading tablet for our Bless Me, Ultima contestants. Groups (family, classes, etc.) are encouraged to submit art projects for children's books category featuring The First Tortilla and The Roadrunners Dance for a chance to win other exciting prizes! Instructions on how to post submissions will be available through our United Way Facebook Fan Page. Be sure to "like" us if you're not already a fan.
